PM Modi in Dehradun on International Yoga Day
Dehradun will be the venue for this year’s national programme on the International Yoga Day. Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has confirmed that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the International Yoga Day celebrations in Dehradoon on June 21.“The prime minister has special feelings for Uttarakhand and he is coming to Dehradun on the International Yoga Day,” Rawat quoted while addressing the media, adding that the venue for the programme would be close to the Forest Research Institute.
President Ram Nath Kovind in Suriname on International Yoga Day
Uttar Pradesh's prominent yoga guru, Bharat Bhushan will be performing yoga with President Ram Nath Kovind in Suriname to mark the fourth anniversary of the International Day of Yoga on June 21. Suriname President Desi Bouterse and his cabinet ministers will also be performing yoga at the event.
Baba Ramdev recounts yoga benefits ahead of International Yoga Day
Days ahead of the International Yoga Day, Yoga guru Ramdev said that he wishes to establish world health, peace and harmony through Yoga. Ramdev also emphasized the benefits of fitness by saying that country can be on top if youth and people excel in fitness. "People who perform yoga will never be sad or depressed...they will not even think of committing suicide. With yoga- mind, body, and soul will always be relaxed also youth and people will excel in fitness. For a stress-free and disease-free life yoga is important," Ramdev told media here.
A Yoga camp has been organized in Rajasthan's Kota city ahead of the 4th International Yoga Day. A large number of people attended the camp and practiced yoga asanas. Ramdev conducted the Yoga session along with students and youth.
